P7 Bourges 1A Serial F2904 in what should have been its original form using ABC Dragonfly radial engines in special low drag cowlings. The Dragonfly had been ordered into mass production on-spec at a number of peripheral manufacturers without any detailed testing and development on the basis of a single test engine. The lack of the reliability of the Dragonfly because it ran almost at its critical vibration frequency meant the development of that version of the P7 had to be abandoned. Of almost 12,000 Dragonfly engines on order in 1918 only about 1,000 were delivered and less than a dozen successfully flown
